This week marks the halfway point delivering Intentional Peer Support to a new class of future practitioners. Reflecting on this week’s training, I am always surprised at how much I learn from the people who take the time to learn this new skill. This week was no exception! I love the different perspectives that people bring and how it challenges my perceptions and preconceived assumptions.
I have been a trainer in this area for a few years, and every time I teach this material, it deepens my practice, and I learn something new about myself. This process plays a significant role in my relationships and in staying connected to people in my life. I love how this work focuses you on what you want instead of what you don’t want. In my life, I often know what I don’t want. I think that this is something that we all struggle with. We are so focused on the adverse outcomes that we often forget to take the time to look at what it is that we want to create in our lives.
